Title : Documentation and Monitoring Officer
Duration : 6 months – with possible extensions
Reporting to : Project Manager – EU – Reaching the Unreached Project (RTU – WASH)
Location : Kandy – Project Office (Field visits to project districts)
Salary : Negotiable
This is a European Union funded project focused on WASH activities in Sri Lankan estate and rural sector spanning four years, commenced in 2017 August, and have been implemented through Solidaridad Network Sri Lanka, Nucleus Foundation (NF) and the Institute of Social Development (ISD). The overall objective of the project is to improve health and nutritional status of marginalized and underserved communities living in 50 estates and 100 rural villages by increasing access to high quality safe drinking water, sanitation and hygienic practices.
Furthermore, it is promoting an enabling environment for the emergence of estate and rural communities to improve health and nutrition status by facilitating the access for safe drinking water facilities at their domestic level. Also, this project contributes to improve the skill and knowledge on best practices of water management, Hygiene and sanitation practices at HH level. The project management is colossally working with government administrational mechanism at central and provincial level to operationalize the project successfully in selected estates and surrounding villagers in Badulla, Monaragala, Matale and Nuwar Eliya districts.
Implementation of above project is mainly lead by Institution of Social Development (ISD) and Nuclear Foundation (NF) in collaboration with relevant government and nun- governmental organizations at National and Provincial level. ISD is responsible to implement the project in 50 Estates and 25 Surrounding village in all 8 DS divisions of 4 project districts. This project has included two major implementation modules, such as community mobilization for Behaviors Changers on WASH and Hardware facilities for Safe Drinking Water. These both modules will be rolled out in particular community and project should ensure the sustainability arrangement after project period and continuation of the interventions by community them self.
The Project Management Team of ISD is planning to recruit a Documentation and Monitoring Officer to the project to work based in Kandy Project Office. The Documentation and Monitoring Officer should ideally be a strong individual with a history of high-level of experience in working with development sectors focusing Documentation and Monitoring in development Projects.
He / She will manage the project as a whole, under the guidance of the Project manager and report by following the HR and Financial guidance of ISD. The Documentation and Monitoring Officer will be supported by the Project Coordinators who are responsible in the districts to implement the project activities as agreed in the Annual work Plan under direct supervision of Project manager
